Summer Essentials: what to pack

BY TSITSIKAMMA VILLAGE LIFE

Summer along the Garden Route is from November to March, with December to February seeing mid-summer daily temperatures of about 24-30ºC. That being said, we would have put together a list of essentials for you to pack for your summer holiday with us, to avoid any disappointment of missing out on all the opportunities in the village and in our area that comes with the summer weather

  • SUN SCREEN

We encourage our guests to spend as much time enjoying the beautiful weather outdoors as much as possible. Whether you are out exploring the garden of the garden route, or relaxing with a good book around the pool, please remember to pack in some sunscreen to protect yourself from a nasty sunburn.

  • SWIM WEAR

We have a beautiful pool that is open to our guests throughout summer. We are also nearby the Storms River mouth and sea, and you need to be prepared for any splashes while you sight-see!

  • HIKING SHOES

The area of Tsitsikamma is often described as “the garden of the garden route”, as it is home to the popular Tsitsikamma National park, and is well known for its indigenous forests, dramatic coastline, and the Otter Trail. Don’t miss out on the beautiful hiking trails in and around Tsitsikamma and Storms River during your stay.

  • FLIP FLOPS

When you’re out and about exploring the area, you might want to pack a pair of airy, open shoes too.

  • SUN GLASSES

Because there is no harm in looking fabulous while you explore!

  • SHORTS & SKIRTS

A few light items to allow your arms and legs to breathe – jeans might be a little too warm in the summer heat, but bring a pair along just in case.

  • A GOOD HAT

To further prevent sunburn, and keep you cool during a hike on one of our many trails.

We hope that this is good place to start while you plan your summer holiday with us, please comment below if you feel we've left anything out!
